Our 1970s house needed a reconfiguration of the downstairs layout and an extension to provide us with the space we needed as a family of 5. The work has included knocking through our old kitchen and dining room to create a large and airy family kitchen living space, the refurbishment and updating of our bathrooms and the addition of a new living room with wood burning stove. Alongside the internal work Thames Construction have overseen the fitting of new windows and doors throughout, the rendering of the property and the replacement of the roof as well as hard landscaping to the front and rear of the property. We are very pleased with the results of the work done which is already making a difference to daily family life. The quality of the finish is a high standard and Laurence ensures that what is delivered by the team of trades meets our needs and expectations. Laurence has been involved with the build from the discussions with our architect and throughout. The trades people that work with Laurence have all been capable and very polite which has made it easier to live in the house during the renovation, as we decided to do.

We are very pleased with the results of our extension built by Thames Construction. We valued the good communication with Laurence and he was always prompt at sorting out any issues and easy to get hold of. The quality of the trades used was excellent and they were all polite and helpful. We wouldn’t hesitate working with Thames Construction again in the future.

The team did a wonderful job and the finished work was everything we had hoped for. Inevitably, there were a few delays, so the work took longer than expected. If we ever do another extension, we’d certainly ask Thames Construction to quote for it.

Thames Construction undertook a significant remodelling of our house in 2023. I would highly highly recommend them as a building company. Firstly, we found their work to be first class and they themselves to be extremely friendly and efficient to deal with on site and at the office. In terms of the budget, they delivered exactly what they said they would when they would at the price they said it would be – any overages were only ever due to us increasing our ambitions or unforeseen circumstances beyond the anyone’s control. When we did inevitably encounter unexpected challenges the implications of those challenges in both time and money were clearly communicated immediately. At the end of the job – when all the annoying little things are inevitably hanging over, they absolutely stayed with us and made sure the job got done without any sense that we were imposing with our detailed small requests. Finally – perhaps the most important thing – the results are amazing and we could not be happier with our fundamentally new living space. If anybody would like to speak to us in person about this. The Thames Construction team were a dream from start to finish. Friendly, professional and with great craftsmanship. Exactly what you want when you have a team in for several weeks. The extension work that was carried out was brilliant and we’re so happy with the result. We don’t have a single gripe about any of the specialist tradesmen that came through - masons, plasterers, decorators, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, roofers, the foreman, and the business manager, Mandy. All brilliant.
